Abram B. Brant (1849–4 October 1878) was an American soldier who received the Medal of Honor for his actions at Little Big Horn, Montana, 25 June 1876, during the period of conflicts known as the Indian Wars.

Biography[]

Brant was born in Manhattan, New York in 1849[1][2] and joined the United States Army from St. Louis, Missouri.[3] While a Private in Company D of the 7th U.S. Cavalry, he distinguished himself at the Battle of Little Bighorn on 25 June 1876.[1][2]

He died 4 October 1878 and is buried in Fort Meade National Cemetery in Sturgis, South Dakota.[1] His grave can be found in section 2, row 4, site 187.[1]
