Abdel Wahab el-Beshry was one of the defense ministers of Egypt during Gamal Abdel Nasser's era. He was among the leading figures in Egypt before the 1970s. He took the commandment of the Egyptian Armed Forces on two terms. The second was after Abdel Hakim Amer's death.[1]
He served as defense minister until 10 September 1966 when he was replaced by Shams Badran in the post.[2]
