The 8th Engineer Brigade is a military engineering formation of the British Army under 1st (United Kingdom) Division that has control over most Royal Engineers units.

History[]

The brigade was formed at Upavon in 2005 and, under the Army 2020 reorganisation, moved to Gibraltar Barracks at Minley in 2014.[1][2] 25th Close Support Engineer Group subsequently moved from 8th Engineer Brigade to 3rd UK Division. However, the brigade still maintains administrative control of the group.[3]

On 11 December 2020, for its efforts in Operation Rescript, the brigade was awarded the Freedom of the City of Liverpool.[4]

Structure[]

The brigade consists of the following units:[5][6][7]
