The 82nd Civil Affairs Battalion or 82d CAB is a civilian operations and support battalion of the United States Army, currently assigned to United States Army Africa.
Current Role[]
Until February 2018, the 82d CAB was aligned to United States Army Africa as their sole civil affairs battalion. Although based at Fort Stewart, Georgia, the battalion can deploy to the Middle East/Africa if needed, as according to their role.[1][2][3][4]
On 21 January 2018, the 85th Civil Affairs Brigade was inactivated along with the 81st and 82nd Civil Affairs Battalions, with the 83rd moving to the 16th Military Police Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.[5]

- Redesignated 15 October 2009 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 82nd (82d) Civil Affairs Battalion (organic elements concurrently constituted)
