3rd Guards Tank Kotelnikovskaya Red Army Order Suvorov Division (3 TD, v / ch 44181) & nbsp; - military unit of tank troops Soviet Army that existed in 1957-1990. The division was created on July 4, 1957, on the basis of 3rd Guards Tank Corps in the city Wroclaw (Breslau), Poland. The division relates to full-time personnel, so it was staffed with equipment and equipment of approximately 25% (2400 persons) of the full strength.

On June 1, 1989, it was converted into the 5357th Guards Arms and Equipment Guard.

History[]

The division was created on July 4, 1957, on the basis of 3rd Guards Tank Corps in the city Wroclaw (Breslau), Poland.

From October 28, 1946, it was reduced to the 3rd Guards Tank Regiment (mobilization), all subordinate units remained, but they were reduced (regiments to battalions, battalions to the mouth), but on October 28, 1948, they were again deployed to full size.

Reorganization of May 23, 1953:

  • The 2nd Guards Motorized Infantry Regiment was renamed the 12th Guards Mechanized Regiment
  • The 733rd artillery regiment was created from the 266th mortar regiment and the 000 separate soapstone artillery division
  • The 10th separate motorcycle battalion was renamed into the 10th separate intelligence battalion
  • A set up of 000 individual chemical protection companies was activated

In April 1955, the 1701st anti-aircraft artillery regiment was renamed the 740th anti-aircraft artillery regiment.

Reorganization from June 1957 (order dated March 12, 1957):

  • 19th Guards Tank Regiment disbanded
  • 126th Guards Heavy Tank Self-propelled Regiment Reformed into 126th Guards Heavy Tank Regiment
  • 12th Guards Mechanized Regiment was renamed 296th Guards Motorized Regiment
  • The 10th separate Guards Intelligence Battalion was renamed the 33rd Separate Guards Intelligence Battalion

In 1960, a separate training tank battalion was disbanded.

Reorganization of February 19, 1962:

  • 92th separate repair and restoration battalion was created
  • 256th separate rocket division was created

In 1968, the 154th individual demolition battalion was renamed into the 154th individual engineering battalion.

In 1980, a separate motorized transport battalion was transformed into a 1018th separate battalion of material support.

From June 1, 1989, it was converted to the 5357th Guards Arms and Equipment Guard Station=.[1]

Disseminated in November 1989 & nbsp; - The 3rd Guards Tank Regiment was transferred to the 34th Panzer Division and the 740th Air Defense Missile Regiment to 37th Guards Tank Division.
