The 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team is an infantry brigade based at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The brigade is a subordinate unit of 1st Infantry Division.

The brigade was redesignated, re-organized & re-stationed several times:

  • Headquarters & Military Police Company, 1ID (1921–1942)
  • Headquarters Company, 1ID (1942–1960)
  • Disbanded 1960
  • Reconstituted in 1963

  • As 1st Infantry Division (Forward) 1975–1991
