2/2nd Machine Gun Battalion (Australia)

The 2/2nd Machine Gun Battalion was formed on 2 May 1940 as part of the 7th Division and served in Egypt before becoming part of the 9th Division and serving in Syria, Egypt, Papua New Guinea and Borneo. The battalion was disbanded on 26 January 1946.
