The Search and Rescue Unit, 15th ID (RR)[1][2] (SARU) (formerly known as Disaster Assistance Rescue Unit (DART)) is the premier elite task unit of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Urban Search and Rescue. SARU Personnel received extensive rescue cross-training from Singapore Civil Defense Academy, South Korea 119 National Rescue Services, Philippine Army 18th Special Forces (DEAR) Company, Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group, Bureau of Fire Protection Special Rescue Unit, Department of National Defense-Office of Civil Defense,[3] Philippine Red Cross, Makati City Rescue[4] and Pasig City Rescue.

- Enhance the capability of the member rescuers, affiliate rescuers, trainees and community in saving lives and managing disaster and incidents using all appropriate skills and available resources.
- Enhance the understanding of the members and community in the aspects of safety and security in the incident field.
- Enhance the essence of teamwork, unity and compassion in every humanitarian project.
- Support the Philippine Army's efforts in saving lives.
