Ōtate no Ran

Ōtate no Ran was a battle in the succession struggle that occurred after the death of Uesugi Kenshin. It was fought between the forces of Uesugi Kagekatsu and Uesugi Kagetora, and took place in 1579 in the fief of Echigo. Kagekatsu besieged and took Otate Castle from Kagetora, who committed seppuku the following year, and Kagekatsu ruled over the Uesugi clan.
