Çetes or Tchetas were Muslim armed irregular brigands who were active in Asia Minor since World War I. They were notorious for their brutal assaults on life, property and honor and were responsible for the atrocities against Christian Orthodox Armenians and Greeks during the 1910s and 1920s.[1][2]
