I was in Kure Japan in the 1974-1975 timeframe and saw a JMSDF Fletcher class destroyer in drydock. The ship had been modernized/modified with a different bow configuration featuring much more rake and bow mounted sonar dome much like modern destroyers. Classy looking tin can. Don't remember the name of the DD or any more details about it. Told some of my fellow veteran volunteers on the USS KIDD DD661, a museum ship in Baton Rouge LA but couldn't give them any details. Does anyone out there have any information on this Japanese destroyer/destroyers? Thanks
