Singapore was originally inhabited by the Orang Laut Tribe before the Chinese, British and Indians came. In 1819, Singapore became a British colony and was occupied by the Japanese Empire in 1942 during World War II and was reclaimed by British in 1945. The British allowed Singapore to be a self-governed state in 1959. Singapore joined Malaysia in 1963 but gained independence in 1965 after having high tensions on different ethnic groups and religious practices. Indian labourers from India took part in helping to build Singapore. In the Singapore flag, the moon represents young nation rising and the stars represent democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. Some of you might already know the differences between Singapore and Malaysia. Singapore's largest ethnicity is Chinese even though they also have Malay as second and Indian as third and their largest religion is Buddhism even though Singapore doesn't have an official religion and allows people to have freedom to practice any religion they want while Malaysia's largest ethnicity is Malay and Islam is the largest religion. Singapore have 4 official languages which are English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil while Malaysia only have 2 official languages which are Malay and English. Singapore is considered a developed country while Malaysia is still a developing country. Singapore is very less corrupt compared to Malaysia. Singapore has one of the highest economies and their military is currently stronger Malaysia. I think Singapore is also one of the top small countries with the strongest military. Singapore also have Gurkhas serving their country. Gurkhas are soldiers from Nepal for some of you who didn't know. Singapore's name in Chinese is Xinjiapo, Singapura in Malay and Cinkappur in Tamil. There are also other names for Singapore like "Garden City" and "Lion City". Singapore is also one of the top most friendly LGBTQIA countries in Asia along with Philippines, Thailand and others. Singapore have very strict gun laws as gun owners are not allowed to bring their guns home and not allowed to carry it in public and they are only allowed to use their guns at the gun club even they should put their guns inside the gun club storage and they are not allowed to bring it out of the club. Singapore is one of the countries that still uses the death penalty and caning. Singapore imposes the death penalty on murder, drug trafficking, firearm offenses, terrorism and kidnapping with hurt. Singapore imposes caning on robbery, burglary, vandalism, abuse and assault. Chewing gum is illegal in Singapore which results in a fine. They only accept chewing gums for medical reasons. Singapore has one of the lowest crime rate in the world and it is also considered one of the safest, richest and cleanest countries in the world despite being expensive and overrated.

His wife was sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment and his mother-in-law was sentenced to 17 years of imprisonment in 2021.
Last year, Singaporean Government confirmed that the terrorism threat to Singapore currently remains high. The terrorists view Singapore as "pro-West" and "pro-Israel". They said that the global terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS in Iraq and Syria as well as their supporters have also used the current conflict to renew their calls for attack. In 2016, Indonesia arrested several individuals who planned to attack Singapore by shooting a rocket and a bomb. According to the Indonesian authorities, those individuals had connections with ISIS.

Recently, Indians were awarded by Singapore authorities for rescuing a child from the fire at the shop house. Singapore congratulates and honours them for their kindness and bravery. In fact, those Indians work as construction workers in Singapore. Orang Laut are the indigenous people of Singapore. They originally inhabited Singapore before the Chinese, British, Malays and Indians came to the country.
Indian Gurkhas are Indian soldiers with Nepali ancestry and they also serve in a Gurkha Contingent in India.
In 1963, Singapore joined Malaysia but later they experienced high tensions on different ethnic groups and religious practices. Most of the people in Singapore are ethically Chinese and most of them practice Buddhism while most of the people in Malaysia are ethically Malay and most of them practice Islam. In 1965, Malaysia made a decision to expel Singapore so Singapore became an independent country on August 9. That time, Singapore was dealing with high poverty but when years passed by, Singapore became a very rich country and has one of the highest economies compared to Malaysia. Singapore's military is currently stronger than Malaysia even they have Gurkhas in their country.

Some of them are descendants of Japanese people who moved to Singapore in the 19th century during the British Colonial Rule while some are descendants of Japanese people who resided in Singapore during World War 2 when Singapore was occupied by the Japanese Empire before the British reclaimed Singapore in 1945.
South Indians are Indians who live in Southern India and many of them actually have a darker skin tone and they speak many different languages like Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Many South Indians in Tamil Nadu actually moved to other countries that were also colonized by the British Empire many centuries ago. One of the most well known is they went to Southeast Asian countries like Singapore and Malaysia as laborers and servants. In these countries, they are remembered for their hard work on helping to build their nations during the British Colonial Rule.
